Karen Margolis, MD, MPH
Director of Clinical Research at HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research (HPIER) and Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Margolis is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota and a Senior Investigator at HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research (HPIER). She has spent the last 15 years working on large multicenter trials testing interventions to reduce cardiovascular morbidity, serving in leadership positions in NIH-funded multi-center trials including the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI), ALLHAT, ACCORD, and the Aspirin for Reducing Events in the Elderly (ASPREE) trial. Dr. Margolis also participates in single-center and multi-center trials and observational studies at HealthPartners and collaborating CVRN sites.
Her research interests center on the epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular disease in people with hypertension and diabetes, as well as on women's health. Dr. Margolis is a board certified internist at HealthPartners Medical Group.
