Alan S. Go, MD
Director of the Comprehensive Clinical Research Unit (CCRU); Chief, Cardiovascular and Metabolic Conditions Section; Regional Medical Director for Clinical Research and Senior Research Scientist at the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research.
Dr. Go is also an Associate Professor of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and a Consulting Professor of Health Research and Policy at Stanford University. During 2004-2006, Dr. Go served as Chair of the NIH Health Services Organization and Delivery (HSOD) Study Section which addresses health services research and clinical epidemiology. He is also currently the Chair of the American Heart Association Statistics and Stroke Statistics Committee. He also serves on the Editorial Board of Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality of Care and Outcomes and the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Go is PI or Co-PI for multiple NIH-sponsored single and multi-center studies in the areas of cardiovascular and kidney disease. Dr. Go brings extensive experience as a cardiovascular epidemiologist, health care effectiveness, and clinical trial researcher with active investigations in atrial fibrillation and stroke, coronary heart disease, chronic heart failure, and vascular and other complications of kidney disease. Dr. Go also has both methodological expertise and experience in the use of health plan electronic medical records and automated databases to conduct longitudinal studies in epidemiology, health services and outcomes research, as well as the conduct of clinical trials.
