The DPM is jointly sponsored by Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.  Harvard Pilgrim serves >1,000,000 members in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.  DPM has 49 faculty and fellows, with all faculty having appointments at Harvard Medical School.  DPM is the organizational focus within Harvard Pilgrim for independent research on key issues in health care delivery.  The DPM is committed to collaborative research, and has >10 active collaborations using joint protocols and data sharing with other HMOs. DPM/Harvard Pilgrim leads the AHRQ-funded HMORN Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics and is a coordinating center for the CDC-sponsored Vaccine Safety Datalink Project. Ongoing federally-funded CVD-related studies include Project Viva (early life origins of obesity and CVD); comparative effectiveness ß-blockers in heart failure; and a project to improve adherence to secondary preventive therapy after acute myocardial infarction.
