Kaiser Permanente Hawaii (KPH) Center for Health Research Hawaii(CHRH)


CHRH is a partnership between KPH and the KP CHR in Oregon. CHRH has formal affiliations with the University of Hawaii and Pacific Health Research Institute. KPH serves a diverse (69% minority) population of 220,128 members in Hawaii with a medical group of more than 360 physicians. CHRH investigators have expertise in epidemiology, health care services, health economics, behavior change, decision research, and nutrition. CHRH investigators have participated in or led several key cardiovascular trials (Multiple Risk Factor Intervention Trial (MRFIT), the Systolic Hypertension in the Elderly Program (SHEP), the Trials of Hypertension Prevention I and II (TOHP), Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) study) as well as other projects such as Translating Research Into Action for Diabetes (TRIAD) study and Work, Weight, and Wellness (3W) Program.
