David J. Magid, MD, MPH
Director of Research for the Colorado Permanente Medical Group, a Senior Scientist in the Institute for Health Research (IHR) at Kaiser Permanente Colorado (KPCO) and a Professor in the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Magid is co-Director of both the NHLBI Cardiovascular Research Network (CVRN) and of the AHRQ sponsored Cardiovascular Research Consortium.
Dr. Magid is a CVD health services researcher with methodological expertise and experience in the use of health plan databases to conduct research. His experience includes developing multiple CVD registries at KPCO. He has led or participated in numerous studies about the quality and outcomes of CVD care that have led to publications in the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA, among others.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, chaired the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Technical Advisory Panel on Emergency Care, and serves as a grant reviewer for PCORI, AHRQ, NHLBI, CDC, the Emergency Medicine Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He currently serves or has served on multiple committees for the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American College of Emergency Physicians, Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, National Quality Forum, JCAHO and CMS. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the Annals of Emergency Medicine and Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes.
