Jeffrey J. VanWormer, PhD
Project Scientist, Epidemiology Research Center, Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation
Dr. VanWormer is a behavioral epidemiologist with interests in primary prevention and risk factor control in cardiovascular disease, with particular attention to community level surveillance and lifestyle interventions. He currently serves as an investigator member of the HMO Research Network and Marshfield Clinic’s lead scientific liaison to their Virtual Data Warehouse Implementation Group. Related to that work, Dr. VanWormer is also the site Principal Investigator and steering committee representative for the NHLBI-funded Cardiovascular Research Network.
Prior to his work at the Marshfield Clinic, Dr. VanWormer was the Director of the Heart of New Ulm Project at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, as well as a Senior Program Evaluator at HealthPartners. He continues to serve as a Scientific Advisory Board member of the Heart of New Ulm Project and an investigator member of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, a statewide collaborative with the University of Wisconsin funded by an NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award. He is also a Review Board member of the Journal of Behavioral Health and Medicine, as well as an Associate Editor for Diabetes Spectrum.
